1. Map the failed joints

   Every face above and below the roofline gets looked at, and soft, cracked or hollow joints are marked.

2. Rake to sound mortar

   Grinders and hand tools clear old mortar to an even depth without chipping the brick edges.

3. Pack and tool new mortar

   A mix matched under ASTM C270 goes in by layers, then each joint gets tooled to shed water.

   Fresh joints are misted as they cure, then you walk the finished faces with us.

Portland cement mortar with lime, in the type that suits your brick. ASTM C270 grades the types by strength, and repointing mortar stays the softer partner.

Hydrated lime for masonry work, which gives the mix its workability and lets the joint move a little without cracking.
