Offsets show up while measuring, and the liner chosen has to pass them. Our pros feed the liner down slowly with a pulling cone, guiding it around the bend without kinking it.

A kinked or crushed liner loses area and won't draft properly, so they check its shape at the offset before connecting anything below. The liner is marked where it passes the bend.

Proving the flue before ordering

A cap goes on top, sized to the liner and made to fit the plate. Our pros check that the plate sits flat on the crown and that the crown under it is sound, since a cracked crown lets water in around the plate.
